2026 Mi Lan Xiang “Honey Orchid” — Phoenix Dancong Oolong · 50g Tin

Mi Lan Xiang (蜜兰香) translates as Honey Orchid Fragrance, and for once a tea name is completely literal. It’s the most beloved of the Phoenix Dancong family and the one most people meet first, because it’s immediately, obviously delicious in a way that needs no explanation and no acquired taste. 

In the cup: a warm honey sweetness up front, orchid florals underneath, and a soft roasted depth that keeps it grounded rather than perfumed. The finish is long, clean and gently cooling. Where Ya Shi Xiang is sharp and high-toned, this one is round and comforting, the difference between a bright morning and a warm afternoon.

Brewing:

• 6-7g · 100°C · Gaiwan
• Rinse once and discard to wake the leaves
• 1st–6th infusion: pour in and out as fast as you can
• Add 5 seconds each round after the 6th · 10–12 infusions
• Boiling water only, Dancong needs full heat, and a fast pour is what keeps it honeyed rather than bitter
