The oldest tea garden in China, and one of the gentlest greens you'll drink.
Gan Lu means sweet dew, and it's a description rather than a flourish. Made from young spring bud-and-leaf sets, gently rolled and covered in fine down, this is a green tea with almost none of the grassy sharpness people expect. If you've tried Chinese greens before and found them bitter or thin, this is the one that changes your mind.
In the cup: a pale yellow-green liquor, creamy sweet hay with a soft chestnut note underneath, and a delicate finish that lingers without any astringency. Gentle, clean and quietly excellent.
Brewing
3g · 80–85°C · Gaiwan or glass teapot
First infusion: 45 seconds
Add 10–15 seconds each round · 3–4 infusions
Never boiling water. Green tea at 100°C turns bitter immediately — this one especially.
